Big Brothers Big Sisters

Lace Up has proudly partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles (BBBSLA) since 2023, hosting an annual basketball clinic for BBBSLA Matches — the youth and their adult mentors.

Every May, Littles and their Bigs gather at a Santa Monica park for an afternoon of basketball, fun, and connection. Groups rotate through games and drills, led by Lace Up volunteers who teach skills and encourage teamwork in a supportive environment.

Participants enjoy lunch together and time outdoors, strengthening bonds while soaking up the summer sun.

Attendance has grown from 13 in 2023 to 35 in 2025, reflecting the event’s rising impact and popularity. Many Matches return year after year, calling it their favorite event and a highlight of their mentoring experience.

Through this partnership, Lace Up is proud to support positive relationships and healthy activity for youth in the community.
